GTO TESTS - LECTURE : THE BEST WAY TO GIVE SPEECH IN THE LECTURETTE

  • Be enthusiastic. Have belief in your subject and let others share it.  Put spirit in your delivery.
  • Speak clearly so that you are proper audile. Your voice should be impressive one.  Don’t growl or murmur. Don’t chew words while talking.  Talk slowly but steadily.
  • Avoid pitching your voice too high or too slow.
  • Introduce wit, humor only at audile points.
  • Remember that number of words spoken per minute is as important as the pauses you give.  Pauses help the audience to catch up and move long with.
  • The speech that you deliver should reflect your emotional stability.
  • While you are speaking, all your efforts should be directed towards and evoking or maintaining the response of your audience.
  • Avoid any personal references and aspersions
  • Be to the point and always keep your attention to the central theme of the subject of your speech.  Beating about the bush would carry you nowhere.
  • Use simple language and avoid verbose, high sounding or bombastic words.  Verbosity or pomposity has a very harmful effect on your speech. Use cogent and forceful arguments in support of your stand.
